Content, form

The Noxious and the Daemon Flower recounts the tale of caffeine-crazed Dim, an anarchist who's down on his luck, trapped in a seemingly endless city: the Maze, bleak and absolute. Dim, Aethel, Nickel and Daeva, undead dreamers roaming abroad, on the verge of breaking down. Yet this is only the beginning. When every road seems littered with riot cops and broken hopes, there is only one significant way out: the Darker Road, where the fight is taken straight to the enemy… and none can be spared.

Emil Cioran once wrote that 'a book must be a dangerous thing'. Thence comes the Noxious: a surreal fiction, dark, twisted, cynical and violent. Raven and Laėmas' third novel, independent, underground, a bridge between the Anarchist movement and the Goth subculture.

Albeit, the Noxious can adequatly be summed up. It was conceived as a frustrate and shady read. Few words wouldn't suffice. Still, you can read some fragments to get a feel. The rest will have to speak for itself.

From the authors

Since the Aube Noire, our relation to Language & Spectacle could be accounted as a paradoxal and fairly destructive love affair. Shamelessly put, Art is not revolutionary; it is a contemplative craft, subversive distraction at best.... Hence, we can't pretend that it lives, yet we chose to laud the unliving, wherefore this piece presents itself without presentation - we'll apologize for naught, nor will we answer for our oeuvre. The Noxious and the Daemon Flower speaks and bleeds for itself.

Aye, it was built with many layers of frustrate intent and, to tell the truth, we can't really hope (ah, hope!?) that it will be fully understood, even by the radicals whom we league so with. Shriven yet, we expose our visions and offer our projects for Beauty. Shallow, simpler works have certainly deluded the world moreso: ignorance appeals more then aesthetical deconstruction. That is well understood. Albeit, any cynic may well conceive our design, and in this irremediable belief - alone - do we find content, that and a semblance of reconciliation within the Dark.

In retrospect, we stand indifferently.
