(Transcript of the message sent today by Laemas to the Forêt Noire mailing list)

Greetings to all,

As some of you already know, these past months have been filled with debates and discussions for the different members and supporters of La Forêt Noire. These past two weeks have seen a decrease in the number of exchanges, and 'time outs' contribute to reflexion... Our problematic issues consisted of our conception of art VS politics - and the interpretation of both inside the collective. We've also questionned our own functionning as a group. We've raised many questions but most fell silent unanswered - due to conflicting visions, interests, and dedication to the collective.

Following these debates on our mailing list, a long period of reflexion (which we've all been through) and other discussions in person, we've finally hit rock bottom: La Forêt Noire will be dissolved. Our base being fairly 'uncollective' - different visions conflicting as to what we wanted to achieve and the efforts we were willing to put in - were the basic elements which instilled us to 'put the axe' to the collective.

Albeit, let's not feel sad over this loss. We've accomplished much, shared a lot, and evolved through all this. The death of one thing is the birth of another.

Death is not the end, it's a new begining....

No hard feelings,

Sam, Lyd & Burn.

We're now working like hellish beasts to plan our next Open Creation Night. Yes, already. The wheel has started turning... We'll have the usual stuff for your ears and eyes, with some new bonus add-ons wich will surely be quite tasteful! But of course, we won't tell you more, everything still in process, and as our next strike will fall in January, things will surely change and evolve, all for the better! It'll give us time to reconsider our position and look back at our history to come back strenghtened and focus, to give you all the best we've got!

The photo section of our last Night has been updated, for a total of 45 photos, from which 12 new ones are freshly out of Dom's camera. Dom is our new part-time-kinda-official photographer! Wilkommen!!

New photo section. We uploaded 33 pics from our last chaos night, but there's still more to come!

4th Open Creation Night!

La Forêt Noire is calling its fourth open-mic creation night, to be held on wednesday sept. 19th, 8 pm @ Café Chaos. For that Night, we are welcoming a friend of ours, La Mauvaise Herbe, who are launching the 25th issue of their zine. La Mauvaise Herbe is an eco-anarchist, anarcho-punk, autonomist and anticivilisationnist collective. They've backed and promoted our events since the beginnning (also displaying Laëmas' artwork), exist since 2002 and so are the oldest ecoradical group in Quebec. Special readings and displays will take place for this rare event.

We'll be there with our insanity quills, DJ Sardaukar and as many mediums of expression as we can muster. And what about you !? Bring our your ideas, Chaos is coming!!

News from la Forêt Noire!

We're pretty much inactive during the summer, but we'll be back with another Chaos night next september!! We'll give you the exact date when it's scheduled.

In the meantime, here's pictures of the last Chaos night / launching party. Thanks to Cannibal Amical for the pics!

There's now a full new artists section, redone with picture galleries, links and contacts.

We're hosting the web site of our official DJ, Sardaukar, aka Von Bloody Benny.

The play we performed from the The Noxious and the Daemon Flower has been shot and is now available to view! Filmed by Jude and edited by Raven, you can see is here. It was shot during the second presentation of our play, as the ending piece of the Second Anarchist Theatre Festival of Montreal, may 29th at la Salla Rossa. We performed in front of almost a hundred people and was a huge success! We'll be back for more!!

All our works / pins are still available at the Insoumise Library, 2033 bld St-Laurent.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Open Mic Night! We'll be getting together again in january to figure what the Forêt Noire will do next (events / general orientations). If you want to participate, check out the mailing list.

We have a new forum, much better than the last one. So there it is!! Also, there's some new links.

    5.11.2006

The dec. 6th Dark Open Mic is on!! Here's the poster, a completely original work by Laëmas. Click to get the full thing, and feel free to spread the info around (don't post in the streets, though!). The entry fee is just 3$, thanks to the Café Chaos & Mitch and their support!!

We'll have 9 different buttons on set. Here's the designs (click to get full size). Price and size are still to confirm, but price should be between 1-2$. Thanks for the suggestions you sent us ;-)

Finally, take note that the artists section is under maintenance. Many people have joined us, some have left, so we'll try to bring it all up to date...

    23.10.2006

Everything's back to normal. The website has relocated to another server, WebAlternative.org (Granby). Everything works, except the videos :-( Sorry for the delay...

Some news: we're planning a fundraiser (dark) "open mic" soirée at the Café Chaos, wednesday december 6th @ 21:00. Other details to confirm (DJ, fee +-5$, etc.) but the date is set! The Café Chaos is really happy to have us again! And for the first time, anyone can come perform whatever they want, spontaneously. Bring your poetry, writings and whatever! The evening is yours. When we get bored, we'll just bring on the music & beer ;-)

We now have a mailing list, hosted by Riseup! Send a mail to nox@resist.ca to be added...

Pin/button production: we'll be making a series of 7 different buttons for the fundraiser. Send us your ideas and images!

    11.10.2006

Nothing works. Site under maintenance. Sorry about that. Main page is still up, but aside from that, Chaos is fucken loose. We're transfering the whole thing from the Reclaim to the Resist (BC) servers. We've been down for one month now, and we are really fucken pissed. So that's it. Oh, and we'll be making a dark open-mic fun(d)raiser kinda thing this december.

    28.07.2006

Six (relative) months of absence but the artists of the Forêt Noire are still active. In fait, while we're creating we try not to lose too much time with the website. This isn't (or at least, isn't anymore!) a blog. Still, we wish to state that we've all lived difficult experiences lately, personnaly and politically. This was to be expected. Albeit, The Noxious and the Demon Flower project is half completed now. The creation is process could be described as both rocky and liberating. Afterall, we have to keep in the spirit of the project. This being said, we think it'll be possibly be issued in the summer of 2007 or the following autumn. Laëmas has conducted an incredible lot of experiences to familiarize himself with the themes, but its going to take more time to conclude the representation. Also, you can now read the second sample, taken from the second segment: Trymethilxanthine.

    25.02.2006

The website was down for the better part of the month. The Reclaim server made some changes and we had to adapt. Also, the torrents still don't work, since we need a good tracker, but can't seem to find the time to upload it all !

    23.01.2006

The torrents and the movie downloads didn't seem to work properly. We've fixed the downloads but the torrents will be dealt with as soon as we can. Problem is, the webmaster (or that geekoid who tries to pass off as one) just came back from two weeks of hospital - an experience both absurd and horrible. Let's just say that if you plan to get your ears pierced in the cartillage, don't make any fucken plans for the upcoming month or so. Things can get really ugly !!!

    29.12.2005

Wrrraaaaaahh !!! Here's the new website!!!

Three years since the beginning of the Forêt Noire project, we've decided to undergo the greatest coding ever and rebuild it all. Each and every detail was conceived and placed carefully during the long winter night hours. We've put in more than 70 hours to rebuild, translate, texturize, recode, ad nauseam. This new version, for the first time in both languages, is about 10x larger than the last. Here you'll find detailled info on pretty much every project we've ever touched, from the Candle to Dim !!!

The Reclaim server allows much more room to display our projects... the only inconvenient might be the somewhat impersonnel feel of a big website. Considering that, we want to express that we worked it all for you, and we're still as devoted and humane as we've ever been. Together, of the Black Forest! Never stop!

We gladly let you visit the website and discover the new elements. Have a delightful and disturbing tour !
